What I can share photos of is the two tiny baby hats I made this weekend for my husband’s boss and his wife.  They just had a baby girl.

Then in about a week I can start sharing photos of all the cute things I’ll be making for my own baby.  Oh yes, we just found out that I am pregnant with baby #3.  A huge Surprise to us.  HUGE!!!!  More about that in a bit.

Itty Bitty Baby Hats is one of my most used books.  And these two hats are my favorite patterns.   The pink Hat is the Ribbons hat only I only do one eyelet row.  The yellow hat is just the Simple Baby Hat.  Both of these were knit on size 7 needles in Knit Picks Shine Sport.  I love this yarn for baby things.  It’s so soft and silky.

So my baby….  The nurse I saw to confirm my pregnancy thinks I’m due in early September.  However, I really won’t know until I see a doctor in a week or so. 

I was told by two different doctors that I could no longer conceive children.  Heck we haven’t really used birth control since my almost 10 yr old daughter was 2.  No babies during that time.  I thought my system was just being mean and evil to me as it likes to do.  Then came soreness in places that aren’t normally sore.  Again I just blamed my body for hating me.  Sickness in the morning?  I blamed that on taking multi-vitamins because they always make me feel sick.  Constantly having to pee?  Well, I stopped drinking cokes and was drinking more water so I blamed the water. lol

All that time my hubby kept teasing me and saying I was pregnant.  I decided to get him back.  This was just a little over a week ago.  I bought a pregnancy test in the dollar tree (yes they sell them).  Brought it home and took it.  My plan was that it would be negative and then I would show it to the hubby and tell him it was positive.  He would freak out and I would laugh.  Then he would stop teasing me.  Because although I had accepted that our family was done with two kids I always wanted more.  So it was a touchy subject with me.

Obviously I was the one who was in for a shock.  The test was positive.  We cried, we laughed, we cried some more.  I said “Oh my God” about 1,000 times.  It’s been a crazy week.

I can’t say I’m totally excited yet.  This is a HUGE adjustment.  We are having to rearrange everything in the house to try and make room for the baby.  My kids are thrilled though.  I know once I see that everything is going to get done that I will start to get excited.  Right now I’m just trying to get finished with all the stuff I wanted to make my niece before I start working on stuff for the baby.

The baby who today has decided to make me crave Cherries.  The fruit and/or anything cherry flavored.  Not that odd right?  Until you take into account the fact that I hate cherries and cherry flavored anything.  As a child I would throw away cherry flavored candies.  Today… it’s all I can think about.  Why all my children do this to me I don’t understand.  With Caedmon it was Grapefruit, with Kathryn it was McDonalds hamburgers. 

Well, off to make Cherry Jell-o. lol

I am thinking…about spring and cleaning.

I am thankful for…a husband who isn’t on his cell phone all the time.  We went out to dinner as a family last night.  My husband was the only man in the restaurant (only 5 others but still) that wasn’t constantly messing with a phone.  It was my kids who pointed it out.  I love that we are what matters most to him.

I am reading…nothing at the moment.  Next on my pile is “The girl who stopped swimming” by Joshilyn Jackson.

I am hoping… I can get some sleep tonight.

I am hearing… The Monkees, The Shirelles, The Drifters, The Crystals and The Ronettes…  I didn’t realize my oldies mix today was all groups that start with “The”. lol

Around the house… Things are messy as usual.

One of my favorite things… Oranges, I’m on a orange kick right now.  Yum!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Cleaning house and organizing things because my parents will be here this weekend!!!  Yay!!  Plus finishing this blanket I’m knitting.  I’m itching to cast on other tiny baby girl things.

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?

**To just have a happy calm day together.  It’s been a ROUGH year.  I’m looking forward to just spending some fun time together with no worries.  Then heading to Alabama to visit family for the first time in 2 years!!

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?

**The kids wake us up early.  The hubby cooks eggs to go with the cinnamon rolls I always make.  Then we eat while we read the last bit of our Advent book.  After all that it’s time to open presents.  Thankfully, the kids are used to it now and don’t even bother to complain anymore.

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

**Completely decadent?  A holiday overseas for my whole family.  At least two weeks touring the UK would be excellent!

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

**Doing fun things together as a family.  It’s the little things that really matter anyway.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

**Mostly board games.  But the Nintendo came out when I was little and my brother and I were Bubble Bobble addicts!

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

**Christmas Eve we always drive around looking at Christmas lights.  It was something we did every year in my family, and now I do it with my own.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

**Alabama to spend time with our extended families.  If that wasn’t an option I would love to spend a quiet family Christmas in Gatlinburg.

In April my Caedmon turned 10.  *Sigh*  I cried and then cried some more.  I don’t like birthdays.  I really didn’t like moving from single digits to doubles.  He on the other hand was thrilled!

He also decided to let his hair get long… as you can see.  He has since changed his mind.

Just last month my baby girl turned 9.  I cried.  Did I mention I don’t like birthdays? 

As always if she knows I am taking a picture of her she has to pose.  I took this right before we headed out for a Mommie / Daughter movie date.

I miss my tiny little babies.  But, these big kids I get to spend time with are pretty cool.

Of course, after over a year of living on half of his salary.  Then the job loss.  It will be a while before things are comfortable again.  Still the sun is starting to peek through the clouds. 

So I am going to start blogging again.  I’ve missed it.  I was just in too bad of a mood to bother trying.  No matter how much I thought things through everything I typed came out snarky.  Now, in real life I will admit that I am quite snarky anyway.  This however was a different beast altogether.

So this is the start.

It’s Wednesday August 5th.  I am sitting at my kitchen table listening to a mix of She & Him, Regina Spektor, and Feist.  The other sounds in my house are my son and his new buddy Marc playing video games, and my daughter and her new buddy Abby playing Princess.  I love that my 9 year old daughter still plays princess.

I have Pizza dough rising in the oven for their lunch and I am ever so happy to be “talking” to you again.

Bah… I finish Jury Duty and start the week off in the swing of getting things back to normal.  And, I get sick.  I feel like crud right now.  But, I wanted to at least get this post done so I would be caught up.

1. Sunday 14th- Heart Shaped Pizza for my kiddos to celebrate Valentines Day.

2. Monday 15th- Jury Duty.  Wore a necklace that my brother and sister-in-law gave me for Christmas.  I love the necklace, but felt ridiculous wearing it.  Please tell me that being true to myself and wearing things I love will start to feel normal.  It’s so hard to push myself out of this box.

3. Tuesday 16th- A picture of what all my hubby gave me for Valentines Day. 

4. Wednesday 17th- Oranges are just so pretty.  The color and smell make me smile.  I love the orange against my cobalt blue dishes too.

5. Thursday 18th- Spent my lunch break at Jury Duty listening to Pink and people watching. 

6. Friday 19th- Reading Wicked outside during our lunch break.  I’m loving this book.

7. Saturday 20th- More oranges.  Only the first one I sliced was dark pink and super sour.  I sliced another one just to show the color difference.

Yes I’m a few weeks behind.  Playing catch up though.  Finished Jury Duty,and got hit with the Winter Blahs.  Maybe it was really the “My husband is home all the fracking time and driving me crazy” blahs.  I don’t know.  Either way I got nothing done in the past week.  Moving on.

1.  Sunday (2/07)- Spending the whole day hanging out with my family and playing with my precious nephew.  He’s just so adorable you can’t help but smile around him.  On top of that my baby girl Kat decided it was her job to mother him.  It was adorable!

2. Monday (2/08)- Was an awesome day and I could have taken 500 pictures for this one day alone.  What I remember most fondly though was sitting around the kitchen table that night.  My brother (in the headphones), My Heather(my brother’s wife, she had stepped away when I took the picture), My husband (hiding his face), and me.  All of us in a circle, all of us on our laptops.  Goofing off and having so much fun.  My face was sore from laughing the next day.

3. Tuesday (2/09)- Another day that could have produced hundreds of pictures.  Seeing the look on my mom’s face when all her grandkids were sitting with her and my dad for supper was priceless though.  Having us live so far away kills her sometimes.

4. Wednesday (2/10)- A sad day because my family all went back home to Alabama.  Watching Gypsy play with my brother’s dog Brahm was such fun the whole weekend.  Gypsy must have thought he was her puppy.  They were so cute together.

5. Thursday (2/11)- I was trying to just take a photo of my Hello Kitty necklace.  I had a different lens then I though on my camera and ended up with a surprise photo of myself.  It’s rare I like a photo of me.  But, I like this one.

6. Friday (2/12)- Part of my Christmas present from my brother and my Heather.  A cool coffee mug.  I love drinking my coffee out of it.

7. Saturday (2/13)- We got more snow.  My children for some reason kept laying face down in it.  It didn’t make Gypsy happy.  She would sit or lay on them until they got up.

Plus, I am reading an actual book!  *Gasp*  I don’t think I’ve picked up a actual book since last summer.  So I suppose knitting needles not being allowed in the court house was a really good thing for me. 

I need to find a way to balance my love for crafts and my love for reading.  I tend to embrace one and abandon the other.

So since I have no pictures to share I though I would borrow the idea of the Simple Women’s Daybook.

Outside my window… The sun is shining, the temperature is chilly and I can hear my children playing.

From the kitchen… Nothing, I’ve been on Jury Duty all week so hubby has been doing the cooking.  He made the yummiest Pot Roast last night.  It’s one of my favorite meals and he HATES Pot Roast. 
I am wearing… Comfy clothes.  Gray Yoga Pants and a teal long sleeve t-shirt.
I am creating… A knitted blanket
I am going… Grocery Shopping in a bit
I am reading… Wicked by Gregory Maguire… loving every moment of it too.
I am hoping… Hubby will find a job soon
I am hearing… My Ipod.  It’s been on shuffle all morning.  I have a odd mix of music on it.  Last 10 songs have included the Glee Soundtrack, Abba, The Beatles, Miranda Lambert, Carole King, No Doubt, Patsy Cline, Lady Gaga, Pink, and Laura Woodley.
One of my favorite things… A Hello Kitty Necklace my parents gave me for Christmas.  I’ve become very attached to it since I got it.  Normally I would have loved it but never wore it because I was too afraid of what others would think.  With my new mindset and plan to just be myself, I have worn it almost every day.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Reporting back for Jury Duty.  Teaching my kids, Crafting when I can, and reading when I can’t craft.

3. Tuesday- Bits of ice left in the trees early in the morning.

4. Wednesday- Stepping out of my box.  I’ve never worn a scarf.  I’ve always wanted to.  I just spend too much time worrying about what other people will think I look like.  I wore a scarf today!

5. Thursday- Finishing a gift for my brother.

6. Friday- Hubby and the children scrubbed the kitchen.  I adore this tablecloth and these chairs.  I love the colors together and every time I walk past them I smile.

7. Saturday- My parents and brother’s family arrived at our house.  So my kids got to celebrate Christmas again.  My little girl rocking a side pony made me smile too.
