We had a wonderful Christmas

I will go into my lovely crafty Christmas later this week when I take pictures of the gifts that my hubby got me.

I do have a few Christmas morning/day pictures to share though.  It was a wonderful day.

The kids woke us up around 7 am, then they volunteered to sit on our bed and let us sleep for an extra 30 minutes or so while they watched a cartoon.  Can you believe that?  There were presents all over the living room waiting to be opened.

Around 7:30 hubby and I got up.  Hubby fixed breakfast while I read the kids the Christmas Story from the Bible.  The kids and I talked about why we celebrate Christmas while hubby got our food on the table (Bacon, Eggs and Pancakes).

We all ate and then headed to the living room so the kids could start opening their gifts.  They (the kids) wanted to give us our presents from them first but I encouraged them to go ahead and open their gifts from Santa instead.  It didn’t take much encouraging. lol

My kids are usually so excited about what the other is getting that without prompting they take turns opening gifts.  It drags the gift opening process out for a really really long time.  Especially since they take after their dad and have to gather up the gift wrap and trash it after each gift is opened.  You can see over to the side where they have already opened their Santa gifts and made towers of them so they wouldn’t be in the way.

You might also notice that Santa knocked the candles in the fireplace over.  The kids thought that was just amazing.

After the gifts were all opened (including hubby and mine), I got the job of trying to get into all the toy packaging.  While the kids watched the Disney Christmas Parade.

Once the parade was over Caedmon disappeared, and after a while I found him behind the sofa with his new lego set.

While he was building Star Wars ships, Kathryn went on vacation.  At least that was what our replacement daughter told us.  Who was our replacement daughter?  Well Kathryn is so thoughtful that when she decided to go on vacation she sent Hannah Montana to spend Christmas with us.

Who knew that Hannah Montana liked playing the Hannah Montana Wii game?

The rest of the day was just lazy.  The kids played all day long, hubby cooked Christmas Diner so for the first Christmas ever I didn’t have to do anything but relax.  It was a wonderful day!
